Online Class via Zoom. Chair yoga is increasingly in demand. It was once thought of as yoga for seniors, but we now use it in many different settings. You can have a chair yoga in offices, meetings, rooms with unacceptable floor conditions, classroom settings, for injured individuals or for the elderly who are unable to comfortably get on and off the floor. Chair yoga can improve your balance, flexibility, concentration and strength…. Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga but can still be quite dynamic, that can be done while sitting. Some poses can also be done standing using a chair for support. ... Chair Yoga can boost your mood, and reduce stress and joint strain. You will need a computer or phone to view the class and a non slip surface, a yoga mat is perfect and a chair. What type of chair? Straight-back chairs, armless chair preferable but your chair could have arms depending on your situation. It's important that your chair has no stability issues. Make sure that your chair is on a stable , flat even surface. You can place your chair on a yoga mat if available but not necessary. Stable wheelchairs , kitchen chairs and folding chairs are ideal . Props can be used like blocks, blankets, straps, and pillows. Depending on your health issues , non-cushioned chairs are the best but if you need some support on your chair that is ok too. Your feet should firmly reach the floor in your chair but if they can't , props like blocks can be used. So you will need: * a chair *a yoga mat (or a non slip surface) *2 yoga blocks or tissue boxes of the same size. *your favourite essential oil (optional)
